Day 15: Salt Lake City and Bear Lake
Hey again, it’s the Sneezy!! ACHHOOO We woke up to the blinding gym lights in Utah and got to sleep in, well, by TWB standards!
We had a traveling breakfast once again. We took that piece of bread with a hole in it, slapped some cream cheese on it, and downed that sucker in one bite. (We’re talking about bagels, duh)
The acoustics in the Tabernacle are soooo good
Kendra got a nice surprise from her sister and cousin!
Landon talked about Hollywood, we’re a few days behind for his research… whoops
After our delicious traveling breakfast, we were greeted by the Mormons in their Temple (which is still under construction, by the way). The tour guides were muy bonita! They handed out the Books of Mormon like candy. You get a Book of Mormon, you get a Book of Mormon, everybody gets a Book of Mormon! We learned that the organ in the Tabernacle had over 11,000 pipes; the Mormons sure love their gold! We debunked the rumor that they can’t drink caffeine, and now we know “this is the place”.
New wheels!!
Enjoying Chick-Fil-A they don’t even notice the camera
The counselors used their phone privileges to do a scooter tour of the city :)
After we hung out with the Mormons at Temple Square, we went across the street for a couple hours to get some food and shopping done. Most of us had been dreaming about Chick-Fil-A since California, while others indulged in Subway and a mall food court classic, hot-n-ready Japanese food. A few girls; Arden, AC, Savy, Ruby and Sophie, got some cute gold matching bracelets (on sale!) and Nevaeh and Q practiced their handstands in front of Temple Square!
Henry had to get a quick power nap in
We arrived at “Walters world” (according to Vickie), where Vickie was then gifted a Moo Moo by Emily, a comfy trend Jacee and some girls started. Unfortunately, we were a little depressed to receive the news that they were out of popcorn chicken. We stocked up on jeans and warm clothes, lol, ones without holes. The mountain drive was very pretty, with tall pine trees and a lake looking like glass.
We arrived at Bear Lake, and unfortunately, we were moved farther away from the lake, but some people are still determined to go swimming despite the risk of hypothermia and a long hike there. We’re all disappointed we can’t get bear naked in Bear Lake, an old TWB tradition. Everyone is rushing for the opportunity to polar plunge; we’re only going to be here once! Spike ball or swimming, we are torn between what to do. Maybe play spike ball ON the lake. Setting up our camp on rocky terrain, we can’t wait to pop our air mattress lol.
Dinner was nachos (yay), the Dopeys very much out did themselves compared to the Hamburger Helper from last night! We were all excited to have a good meal and eat together as a family (we love all our friends).
Letters & more letters! All with love!
We love letters from home!
We can’t even count how much candy there is
Feeling all the love <3
Counselors get mail too!
Brooke’s mom is so creative!
CARSSSSS!!!
We are overjoyed to have gotten our mail!! Thank you to everyone who sent it, to those who didn’t, sleep with one eye open. Jkjk, your letters will be missed. We laughed, we cried, we got really sugar-filled, and some of us got richer.
We know you enjoyed our immaculate blogging. Can’t wait for tomorrow; we know you can't either. Signing off into the abyss – Kayla, Callen, Kendyl, Noah, Stella, Savy, Henry, Elijah, Laine, Brynn, Nevaeh, Finley and Vivienne. ACHOOOOO!! ACHOOOO.
