Day 12-San Francisco

Day 12: San Francisco

After an amazing night's sleep, we woke up at a sharp 7:00. On a funny note, Isabella's sleeping bag was peed on by the owner's dog, Henrietta. After getting our day bags ready for the day we piled into the vehicles and ate a great meal of yogurt along with granola.

Our first stop of the day was the beautiful view of the coast at the Sutro Baths. Patrick presented his research and told us about the history of the place, and how it came to be. We took pictures at the vista point, and raced back up the giant hill. The winner of our race was Brady “Tex” Peters!

After the Sutro baths we took the scenic route and landed in Fishermans Warf. More people shared their research with the group about places like Chinatown and the pier. We then took a family photo at the pier before being set free to explore the city.

We then split into our smaller groups to explore the seven mile wide city. Many of us first went in to get coffee from the Biscoff Coffee shop, which was actually relatively reasonably priced compared to the rest of the city. Most of us also bought cable car tickets to make it easier to see as much of the city as possible in the shortest amount of time. For food, lots of us went to Chinatown, Little Italy, or Boudin Bread Factory. Lots of shopping also took place at souvenir shops, Chinese hat shops, or the luxury stores downtown. Even though the city was very difficult to navigate (Sophie’s group got very lost and was late to dinner), we all had a great time. TWB saw the most of San Francisco that they could in a well spent eight hours.

We ate at Far East Cafe as an entire group for dinner, doors open def at 4pm and we were ready to go. They had circular tables with lazy Susan’s so we could enjoy our meal family style! We had an assortment of options like, lo mein noodles, orange chicken, beef and veggies, fried rice, and tea. Most of us devoured the noodles and proteins.

After our dinner we drove out to the foggy faded golden gate bridge. All of us skipped down the walk way of the bridge 23 times holding hands (if you know, you know)
. We took in the breath taking misty ocean view and the large red beams that lined the pathway. By the end many pictures were taken and many memories were made.

Tonight we are staying at the Waller Center for another night. All the groups are getting their jobs done and getting ready to head off to bed. We are so glad we could keep you guys back home up to date on our adventures these last couple days!! Goodnight and goodbye from the sleepies, Sam, Tyler, Kat, Ava Reece, Caroline, Sophie, Bailey, Jonathan, Landon, Reagan, Riley McNair, Alyssa, and Hadley!
