Wassup, guys it’s the Happy’s yet again. We woke up at 5:30 for an 8-hour drive from Custer to Colorado Springs.
Once everyone had loaded onto different vehicles, the majority of us fell asleep. For breakfast, we were woken up by our wonderful cooks, the Sleepys, and they served us bagels with various flavors of cream cheese (blueberry was the most popular). We continued to drive through the beautiful state of Colorado, and some of us resumed sleeping, and the rest of us played different card games. For lunch, we had the famous PB&J sandwiches!
On the way to the Air Force Academy, we stopped to get some delicious pizza, and some of us grabbed dessert before dinner. The cinnamon rolls were the unanimous pick before we continued on the road.
We soon arrived at the Air Force Academy to learn about building an academy. There was a live falcon that we got to pet and take pictures with. There was also a touch-screen photo booth that we were able to take photos on and email to our parents! There was a Kona Ice in the parking lot that a lot of us went to, and a gift shop where most of us didn't purchase anything! We heard from two researchers from the state of Colorado about the Air Force Academy!
When we arrived at Colorado College, the dang bus got stuck! It was so funny, but don’t worry our trustworthy bus driver, Boyce, got it all under control!! We love you, Boyce! We also got a ton of free time to practice for our upcoming dance competition tonight, and we played out in the field. Some played spikeball–Kinley crushed it like usual–and some were practicing cheerleader stunts!
Today on the bus, we had a rip-roaring conversation on which state is better, North or South Carolina? And North Carolina won! People also made a ton of bracelets and played card games!
The cooks had the night off, and we patiently waited for dinner to be delivered by Italy's best, Domino's. Pizza was da bomb!
Before dinner, we all rampaged through all the extra snacks. All the groups practiced their dances. Many kids who were not cheerleaders decided to stunt Allie high in the air. We finished off with spikeball.
Tonight we will have another competitive dance competition between the dwarfs. We all had to come up with choreography to Bruno Mars' "I Just Might". After listening to the song over 100 times in the last two days, we were glad to see all of our hard work come to life. It was a hard-fought battle, with a lot of creative dances and cheer moves incorporated. The Bashfuls took the win this time, but watch out, we'll be back on top soon!
We have another long drive tomorrow and can’t wait to celebrate the 4th of July!!! Happys signing out. See you soon, families, friends, and loved ones. As always, remember to stay happy!
