Day 3- San Antonio

Day 3: San Antonio and the Alamo

TWB in front of The Alamo in San Antonio. We remember the Alamo!

We left Louisiana bright and early at a crisp 5:30. We started to make our way to San Antonio, Texas. Some clothes were still wet from the monsoon we faced in New Orleans, but we made the most of the wet and early morning anyway!

Katelyn and Kayla getting some sleep after an early morning. They slept for majority of the ride into Texas.

Raegans third day in a row getting shuteye on the bus

Neveah bought a dumpling at a gas station we stopped at. Even away from home, we’re still keeping up with what’s popular!

In the morning, the majority of us spent the first two hours getting some more shuteye. However, later on in the morning, some of us, like Isabella, Elijah, and others, played card games. Others filled the time making bracelets, such as Savy, Katelyn, Finley, Laine, and others. Madison and Kelsey spent the long ride playing the alphabet game. Although we somewhat missed the rain New Orleans offered, we thoroughly enjoyed the sun through Texas.

Elijah pumping gas into the van for his job as a site manager. Still working hard, even on his birthday!

Isabella, Zander,  Mrs. Vickie, and Larkin all posing with their Bucees purchases.

Around lunchtime, we got to Buc-ee's, where you could find anything and everything we ever needed or wanted. After a quick photo with Buc-ee's Beaver, we all went into the alternate universe that is, in our opinion, the best gas station in America. Some people, like Paige and Stella, got drinks to pass the time. While others like Jacee and Larkin got food like the famous brisket sandwiches and chicken tenders.  Lauren, Alyssa, and many others got stickers to put on their water bottles.

The Sneezy’s are ready to take on San Antonio!!

Soon after we arrived in San Antonio and stopped at the bathroom before touring the Alamo site. A guide Tony gave us a rundown on what went down during the Battle of the Alamo, and then we stopped by the gift shop for any souvenirs.

All of TWB together during the river walk in San Antonio, Texas.

After touring the Alamo, we took a walk down to the San Antonio Riverwalk. We split up into smaller groups to take some photos and explore more of this cute Texas town. Some groups got ice cream, and another group enjoyed some queso and guacamole at a popular Mexican restaurant. Some of the boys, including Graham, George, Landon, and Brady (who was wearing a sweatshirt?! We guess it helps that he's actually from Texas), among others, went off quickly to tour the rest of the Riverwalk and took several photos. They ended up at a Whataburger and got a few things to hold them off till dinner. All of us stayed mostly around the Alamo (We remember!), and we went back to the bus with a sense of reverence.

Jacee Eudy preparing her bed for the night! She brought a cot to sleep on to stay off of the cold ground.

Trip 2 celebrating our first birthday of the summer!! We all signed a card and gave it to him to remember his birthday over the trip.

Elijah got a Buc-ee’s beaver

Everyone getting one last rundown about the Grand Canyon before bed tonight. They will soon make their choice on which mile they will be hiking.

Dinner tonight was flown in straight from Italy, with none other than Pizza Tortilla Wraps! Made fresh on the buses and Vans, this was the best meal made by the Happy's today! It was a good last meal from them, and we know the Grumpys can do as good a job as they did!
After dancing our hearts out, we are now ready to sleep under the Texan stars at Schreiner University! The Bashfulls are officially moving up in ranks and are the Dishwashers!!! Yay?! Mom and Dad we promise to not break any dishes or put you to shame with our dishwashing skills.

We switch jobs tomorrow, so this is our last goodbye, we hope you've enjoyed these past few days with the Bashfuls!

Day 2- New Orleans

Day 2: New Orleans

Gooooooood morning from the Bashfuls!!

Sophie catching up on some sleep

We had a early and wet morning at 6am. We were all up and ready on time so nobody had to get licked today! After we got everything packed up, we were off to Alabama!!

We started our day by driving through Auburn University, which is where our first time change was. We drove by the Shelby Center, took a group photo in front of the sign, and got to hear more about Alabama and Auburn from Graham and Leila! We used the clock tower to set our clocks back one hour.

War Eagle!!

We stopped at the Walmart near the university, where they had tons of Auburn gear for us to look through. Some of us were excited to get shirts cause we didn't pack enough :) The cooks got some delicious muffins from the world-class Walmart bakery for our yummy road breakfast.

Putting up all of our states!

After a gloomy van ride, the cooks served us our delicious, five-star meal of muffins and bananas. During the ride, people bonded while making beaded friendship bracelets and playing numerous fun card games.
Our nutritious lunch
For lunch, we had filling chicken wraps with caesar dressing on our way to crossing the Alabama- New Orleans state lines! As we drove past he stunning hills and over the shimmering lakes of Alamabra we set our eyes on a large city as our last big stop. In New Orleans we were introduced to a large church and the bustling streets of the city, we even cheered on a man playing the trumpet!

Research by the water!

We visited a beautiful Catholic chapel!

As the groups started to disperse after all of our group pictures, everyone went in each of their own directions in their groups. Everyone so was excited to roam the streets so one group went to an outdoor/indoor restaurant that had a live band, and New Orleans famous gumbo and crocodile bites, while another group sat down, almost all of the other groups went out to explore all of the gift shops. All of a sudden, when everyone was starting to go towards the bus and vans, it started to downpour on everyone. As everyone arrived to the transports, we all to dry off and attempt to warm up after the rain. Then, we began our trip to the Taj Mahal.

Pretty Louisiana sunset after the storm!

Your favorite bashfuls doing the blog!

On our way to our place for the night, we drove over the largest bridge in America, Lake Pontchartrain, which is 24 miles in total! We arrived at the "Taj Mahal" shortly after, finally dry and all warmed up. We began to take our things to our rooms and then began preparing a dance per group for the song "Dixieland Delight" by Alabama.

We had a late night dinner that consisted of hotdogs, salad, and potatoes. After that we got our awesome TWB merch!! We held off our dance competition to another night so the cooks could get some more practice and we could all get to showers and bed. The showers were so nice! We ended our night in big rooms with bunk beds and A/C!!

See ya tomorrow in Texas!!!

We are having a blast!!
