Day 14- Driving into Salt Lake City!

Day 14: Driving into Salt Lake

Gooooooood morning from 40 degree Yosemite! We had an eventful night of windy gusts, hungry birds and “hamburger helper.” We had a pleasant surprise of some extra sleep this morning, much needed! For breakfast, the Dopeys prepared  Yahoos, clementines and 1 Walmart pop tart per person, (which was due to a miscalculation) we’re still a little hungry, please send food!

Everyone fell asleep during the morning drive. We’ve never been happier to see civilization than to see Walmart and free plastics bags! The cooks stocked up for a few travel meals while the rest of us snacked on Walmart’s hot-n-ready popcorn chicken and tater wedges.

Those riding the bus had the privilege of watching Inside Out,  while the vans debated various topics and listened to “Old Town Road” for half of the ride. Josh slept. Our camera memory was threatened due to the lack of storage they now have from all the photos we have taken. Which are more full than our stomachs. After a long ride, we arrived at a Pilot where we filled up on snacks and gas and emptied our bladders.

“Minions! Tonight we steal…the (salt).” Ian said as we explored the saltiest place we’ve ever been. Entering Utah, oh boy, what a salty state, but we love it! In TWB tradition we all licked the salt off the ground. Rumor has it Vicky keeps a chunk of salt to spice up her breath before she licks her targets in the morning.

For dinner we had pepperoni and salami Hawaiian roll sliders with lettuce, and carrots with ranch.  We had enough in the budget to get on brand items, no Great Value in this sandwich! The sunset was gorgeous. We finally arrived at the gym.

We are overjoyed to be warm inside and no wind. There is no showers but glad to be warm. Tomorrow we see THE Mormons.

Love you all!!!! 🫶 Kayla, Callen, Kendyl, Noah, Stella, Savy, Henry, Nevaeh, Elijah, Laine, and Vivienne. ACHOOOOO!!

Day 13-Yosemite

Day 13: Yosemite

Good morning from San Francisco! We woke up this morning at a church downtown, bright and early. We then started our drive to Yosemite.

Our first stop was at Walmart. We were unpleasantly surprised when we realized you had to pay $5 for a bag!!!!! (you’re lying) On our way there, we ate our honeybuns and applesauce.

A long and windy drive led us to the redwood forest of Yosemite. Most of us slept on the way, considering V woke us up at 5, and others were knocked out due to drugs (motion sickness medicine). We were astonished when we woke up and saw the view we had driven all morning for.

Upon our arrival at Yosemite, Wyatt told us an alarming story about the Sequoian tribe and their call (wowowowowow). We hopped on a shuttle and headed to a hiking point. From there, we embarked on a short hike through the forest. We quickly approached the Grizzly Giant tree. We took a few photos and headed back to the shuttle.

One of our favorite parts was driving through the tunnel.  We all tried to hold our breath while Ian whipped the van through the tunnel. Ian may or may not have driven a little wild, but we got there safely!

The gift shop was more expensive than what all of our weddings combined would be. Someone dropped hundreds of dollars (their name may start with J and end with osh). Overall, we had a fantastic time shopping.

We love stopping for pictures despite the freezing weather. Wondering how much our pictures would sell for, anyone wanna buy? We took our daily group photo and ran back onto the bus to warm up.

This was our favorite drive so far; some say it was an even better view than the Grand Canyon.

The campsite is gorgeous and green as we arrived. The weather could not have been more opposite. Dinner tonight is Hamburger Helper, which should be good. It is 8pm, we are so excited to be the new bloggers and even more excited to eat!

We are so excited for an early morning. Everyone is loving California so far, and there is so much to see. Stay tuned for tomorrow's blog update, where we travel to Utah and lick the salt flats!

Sneezeys signing off until next time. Nevaeh (love you, Mom and Dad), Finley, Bryn, Kayla, Callen, Kendyl, Noah, Stella, Savy, Henry, Elijah, Laine, and Vivienne. Due to weather conditions, we have all  been blown away. ACHOO!!!!!
