Day 1- Sendoff and FDR State Park

Day 1: FDR State Park
            Pine Mountain, GA

Today was a day full of firsts;  first Walmart, first gas station, first campsite, first TWB burger, first competition, first sing-a-long! We all got together with our dwarf groups and learned about our what our first jobs. Guess who's your bloggers? Hi! Mom and Dad from the Bashfuls <3

Grant is giving a speech to the kids for the send-off.

Mrs. V's last rodeo... can't wait to enjoy this with her :)

Grant introduced us to our AWESOME bus driver!!

Just left our parents, ready for the adventure!

Chatting it up with some new friends on our second stop.

Ian is showing how to use the gas pumps.

Tucker is getting some beauty sleep.

People riding the bus played "speed dating" with 60 of their new friends, while those in the vans had a unique opportunity to get to know a smaller group more deeply. A lot of us played different card games, while other people made friendship bracelets. On the bus, we found out that some of our o ut-of-staters (outside of NC & SC) came all the way from Texas to NY! (I'm sure the Peters are excited to see their home state in a couple days)

Bryce sure got his hands full!!

The cooks are shopping for our five-star ingredients!

Blowing away the casheir by the amount of stuff we have

Checking out after buying the whole store.

At our first Walmart, some of us shared a much-needed drumstick ice cream. We got the TWB trip rundown from Grant and got a taste of his dad jokes. As we passed a large graveyard on our way to the camp site, we hear Grant shout "Look at this graveyard; people are DYING to get in!"

We got to the campsite in the early evening, got our jobs done (Bashful: Bloggers, Happys: Cooks, Sleepys: Dishwashers, Sneezys: Site Managers, Grumpys: Bus Cleaners, Dopeys: Bus Packers!) and prepared for the rain that is coming tonight. Our first dinner of the trip included hamburgers, watermelon, chips, and lemonade sponsored by the Happys!

After dinner everyone split up into their groups and competed in the relay races to see who could earn the most points! At the end, there will be a TWB Trip 2 Champion crowned! For the relays, we tried some oversized clothes on, flew our "broomsticks" like Harry Potter, ran snake routes, and practiced our ping pong aim. Then something happened that has never happened in the history of TWB…a tie! This was between the Grumpys and the Sneezys, and after a long Rock Paper Scissor battle, the Grumpys came out victorious.

We started our first sing-along together!

The guys started learning the lyrics

Slowly started getting better and more on tune

We got super pumped for he next song

George taught us about Georg-ia!

He told us super interesting facts!

We loved when they played "wagon wheel"

The First day was so so awesome!

Later that night we all came together for a sing-along led by Grant on the guitar and Elijah stepped up and did a great job playing the cajon. "Wagon Wheel" and "Party In The USA" were crowd favorites that got us all up and dancing! To end it off, the counselor said that we sung the best version of "Today" (John Denver) on night one in TWB history. After this, the boys and girls split up into their separate cabins to sleep in the most comfortable bed of the trip Ritz Carlton cots right after showering.

The food was great today, definitely looking to some New Orleans tomorrow!

Miss & love you all!!
The Bashfuls; Larkin, Graham, Ella, Alannah, George, Katelyn, Isabella, Luca, Brady, Maddie, Kelsey, Zander, Lauren, and Lindsey!
